About Metropole
The city of Vienna is home to 700,000 people from outside Austria. That’s one in three. They need a voice that speaks on their behalf. Metropole was founded to bring international voices and views into the local conversation.
What launched as a monthly city magazine in October 2015 quickly evolved into a vibrant community that celebrates the city and gathers at events to connect over trends, food, current news and entertainment. We began offering daily online news and hosting monthly events to bring the Metropole community to some of Vienna’s best new and legendary venues. In 2020, we became the prime source of COVID-19 updates for non-German speakers all over Austria. We also launched the award-winning publishing project Home is Where the Herz Is, reported and created by media professions from Vienna’s 10 largest international communities and culminating in Vienna’s biggest international block party, HERZ FEST.
