Book Presentation: From Empire to Republic

Stories from Central Europe,

100 Years after the End of the Habsburg Monarchy

It’s been one hundred years since the Austrian Habsburg Empire disintegrated into several newly independent republics. Over the past few years, METROPOLE has featured different nations’ 20th century development in its print and online magazine. The result was a beautiful collection of essays, photography and insights to Central and Eastern Europe, which we were proud to present to Metropolitans on the 13th of February at the KUPPITSCH book store in Vienna’s 1st district.

The METROPOLE Salon is a monthly get-together for Metropolitans to socialize and to meet our writers and our team. They can also bring along friends to get acquainted with the magazine and the community. It always takes place at a new location in Vienna with wine, music and great conversation. A few journalists present their stories from the current issue and we invite prominent personalities to give a short talk.
