METROPOLE Subscription Terms and Conditions
New Subscription Offers
Subscription offers are open to new subscribers only. Please allow up to eight weeks for delivery of the first issue of your subscription (up to eight weeks overseas). All prices are discounted from the full subscription rate advertised in each title, include postage and packaging and are correct at time of printing. If the magazine frequency per annum changes, we will honor the number of issues paid for, not the term of the subscription.
Welcome Gifts and Promotions
If the subscription offer includes a welcome gift voucher or promotion coupon, this is subject to availability and will be delivered separately after your first payment. Home Town Media GmbH reserves the right to supply an alternative gift of the same or higher value if the intended gift is not available. Gifts are only available to subscribers residing in Austria.
Your subscription contract will be fulfilled by Home Town Media GmbH, a company registered in Vienna, Austria, together with its agents and sub-contractors.
If placing an online order, when you click “Submit Order” you will either see a page or receive an email (if you have supplied your e-mail address) acknowledging that your order has been processed. No contract between you and Home Town Media GmbH exists at this point. A legally binding contract is formed on the date we send you a confirmation of your order with your subscription account number and payment has been received.
You will receive this confirmation by e-mail within 72 hours, if not, please contact customer service at email@example.com.
We will not be responsible if you fail to receive the written confirmation because you have supplied us with an incorrect postal or e-mail address. We reserve the right not to accept or process your order for any reason. All orders are subject to validation checks and authorization by your payment card issuer. If we do not accept your order and your credit card has already been debited, we will notify you and refund your card in full immediately.
Subscription Term and Renewals
As of August 2015 METROPOLE is published monthly 10 times per year, with a double issue for July/August, and December/January. As the end of the subscription term approaches, the subscriber will receive an e-mail reminder and be given the option to renew his or her subscription. Unless the subscriber opts out at this time, the subscription will be automatically renewed for the same term as the previous subscription.
Once you’ve placed your gift order, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail within 72 hours. Please allow up to eight weeks for delivery of the first subscription issue for Austrian orders. We reserve the right not to fulfill and to cancel orders:
- If we are unable to obtain payment authorization from the issuer of your payment card;
- Or we do not receive the payment via direct bank transfer.
METROPOLE magazines are delivered via Austrian postal service during the first week of the month of publication (March, June, September, November), four times a year.
We deliver METROPOLE to the address you have provided when you placed your order. Subscriptions start with immediate premium online access and the next available print issue. If you have supplied us with an incorrect address, we are not responsible for failed deliveries. We reserve the right to dispose of incorrectly addressed envelopes and their contents without an obligation to refund you or any other person if they are returned to us.
If you order before the 20th of the month, you will receive the print issue of the following season. Any orders made after the 20th of the month will begin two cycles later. For example, an order made on May 9 will begin with the Summer issue (delivered in the beginning of June), however an order made on May 26 will begin with the fall issue, delivered in September.
We will not be liable to you for any delay in delivery or non-delivery of magazines in the following circumstances:
- If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorize payment to us;
- If such delay or failure is due to circumstances beyond our control or the control of our sub–contractors and agents, including but not restricted to war, electricity power failure, utilities failure, failure of telecommunications links, failure of transport infrastructure, fire, flood, government act, an act of God, legislative constraints, strikes, labor disputes or malicious damage involving employees.
Our liability to you in the event of magazines being lost in dispatch shall be at our discretion be limited either to replacement of the missing issues or refund of the cost of the missing issues, to the extent permitted by law we exclude all other liability to you. Our exclusions of liability shall not apply to any damages arising from death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of any of our employees or agents. These terms and conditions do not and shall not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Digital subscriptions will receive login information within 72 hours, and the current issue will be accessible via internet connection anywhere in the world.
As a subscriber to METROPOLE, you may receive inviations to exclusive METROPOLE events in premier locations throughout Vienna. However, due to space and other logistical limitations, METROPOLE reserves the right to limit the number of guests who can attend each METROPOLE event. Registration does not guarantee a confirmation for attendance.
Cancellations and Refunds
Print subscriptions can be cancelled and refunded within 14 days of the day your first print subscription arrives in the mail. After this time, cancellations and refunds are not possible for subscription periods up to one year. All digital content that is downloaded by the user is exempt from this 14-day refund rule, and cannot be returned or cancelled.
For any change in address for delivery, please provide six-weeks notice.
Please note that all credit card refunds will be issued in euros. Your credit card company will convert the euro amount into your local currency and may charge an additional fee for completing the transaction.
Purchased with a private subscription, METROPOLE magazine may not be copied for any purposes. An educator may copy METROPOLE for educational purposes only. The copyrights for one subscription apply to one educator only. A school must purchase one subscription per educator using METROPOLE in their classes.
Prices displayed on the subscriptions section of the website will prevail at all times in relation to orders placed online. Prices quoted on screen include delivery charges and taxes (where applicable). All credit cards will be debited in euros by your bank on behalf of Home Town Media GmbH.
Each subscription package will be billed in one installment.
Although we try to ensure that all prices are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of your order, we will inform you as soon as possible. You will have the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or canceling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. We will refund you in full if you cancel the order and have already paid.
If you are under 18 or are not using your own credit card to pay for the subscription, you must ask the permission of the credit card holder before entering the payment details. By clicking “Submit” you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the credit card holder.
We use the personal and transactional information (e.g. name, address, e-mail address) (“Personal Information”) you supply to us in order to fulfill your subscription order. Home Town Media GmbH will not save your credit card information. Only the credit card processor Stripe will collect credit card information. We will not sell on your name, address, e-mail address or any other personal information to third parties.
We will not be liable to you for any losses you may suffer as a result of unauthorized access by a third party to the information you transmit when you place an order. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your own credit card details to avoid unauthorized use.
These terms and conditions are subject to change and this current version overrides any contrary terms or conditions published by us in relation to any order placed by you with us.
