The club culture festival presents emerging international artists

Now going into its sixth iteration, the Waves Vienna Music Festival and Conference stays true to its motto “East Meets West”, featuring a long, international line-up with a special emphasis on local and central European artists. Numerous artists will perform at different venues in and around the headquarters in WUK, allowing revelers to drift through the myriad worlds of alternative, electro, rock and club music.

Various established artists will grace the stage, such as Austrian Amadeus-nominee Avec, British electro-musician Gold Panda, local alternative rockers Lausch (pictured in tennis duds), Scottish BRIT-award-winner Finley Quaye and one of the more recent stars in the newcomer-firmament, German-British indie-pop band Kafka Tamura.

In addition, up-and-comers that have yet to surface on the stormy sea that’s the music industry will be given a springboard to fame – or at the very least, a broader audience. At intimate pop-up sessions, attendees can take a closer look at the artists’ personal stories.

As usual, the concurrent conference includes lectures, panels and workshops in tune with the festival’s theme. Under the patronage of this year’s special guest countries, Israel and Germany, participants will get the chance to socialize with international journalists, managers, labels and promoters.
