This charming old-style coffee house is quintessentially Viennese and situated smack in the middle of one of Vienna’s trendiest neighborhoods. It’s been an institution since 1907 and holds its own as one of the few traditional coffeehouses in the area. Finally! On the 1st of May, Figar – the beloved bare-brick café on Kirchengasse in Vienna’s 7th district – will reopen its Shanigarten for the flocks of afternoon-Melange-sipping hipsters of Vienna. From great breakfast options (served until 16:00) to the overflowing cheeseburger and avocado salad, its easy-going menu suits the joint’s Gemütlichkeit to a T. The owners have also just opened a new bao-bun location on Taborstraße in the 2nd. Yumm.
